When Calc figures need to go out as something final, a PDF freezes them. The workbook's sheets render here as cleanly typeset tables and pass to your browser's print dialog, Save as PDF one click away, that dialog being the delivery step. Recipients read exactly what was sent, on anything, editing nothing. Wide sheets appreciate the dialog's landscape option. The rendering happens locally, which is where budget and payroll figures belong.
Questions
Do charts from the ODS render into the PDF?
Tables and values render; charts remain in the spreadsheet. A chart worth sending is worth exporting as an image separately.
Is landscape orientation automatic for wide sheets?
It is a setting in the print dialog, chosen by you; the preview shows the effect before saving.
Local conversion?
Yes, including the rendering.
