Downloads and game audio in open containers, moved to the format that every device on earth accepts.

OGG files travel poorly outside the open-source world: car systems, cheap players and plenty of institutional software pretend not to see them. MP3 needs no introduction anywhere. The conversion decodes the Vorbis or Opus audio and re-encodes at 320 kbps, the gentlest setting for an unavoidable lossy-to-lossy step. Everything runs in your browser; the quality you have is preserved as nearly as a second encoding allows, which for most uses is near enough.
Questions
Why does the MP3 come out larger?
Opus packs quality tightly; MP3 needs more bits for the same confidence, and 320 kbps output is chosen to protect what the OGG had.
Any way to skip the quality tax?
Only by finding the audio's original lossless source. Between two lossy formats, some cost is physics.
Can I make the MP3 smaller instead?
Yes, bitrate is adjustable, but lower output multiplies the visible artifacts from stacking encoders. 192 kbps is a sane floor.
Is the file uploaded?
No. The whole conversion is local.
